Cornbelly's 10/18/08
Chloee's first trip to a corn maize. We took her to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point. We had so much fun. Troy's son Zack was up from California and joined the fun. She started out in the Pumpkin Princess playland. Took her picture in the carriage, she played in the tower, there were costumes to put on scarecrows, a princess bounce house, and the Pumpkin Princess would come out and read a story, then pose with the girls for pictures. Dad and Zack tried out some new hair options. She pumped water in the duck races, there was a cow to milk, horse style swings, crooked playhouses. They had a big "corn box", like a sand box but filled with corn kernals. Slides, trains, a country store to play in. There was a kiddie maze to walk through along with the bigger maze, lots of slides, food. We ate the pulled pork sandwiches. they were yummy. She had cotton candy, a PB&J sandwich.
Cornbelly's part 2
More at Cornbelly's: they had a tunnel of hay to walk through, a Chicken Show, destruction zone where you can shoot candy cannons, pumpkin slingshot. They had a museum and you could watch a movie of previous years and the corn maze designs. She went on the cow train ride, they had hay rides. There was a big structure made of hay that you climbed up and could choose many different slides to come down. There was a pumpkin tree full of neatly carved pumpkins. A large blow-up dragon that you walked through his body. It was very dark and as you went though different part of his body, they had different sounds, like a loud thump thump when you were in his heart. There was a man there making balloon animals. Chloee had him make her a pink poodle. There were 2 bounce pillows, pedal carts, you could mine for gemstones. The pumpkin princess offered horse drawn carriage rides. There was mechanical bull riding. Chloee wanted her face painted. She wanted spiderman, and so the artist painted a spiderman butterfly on her face. Oh the huge smile Chloess had when she was done painting her face. They had a huge rocking chair you could sit in for pics. Chloee tried putting her fingers in between the slats of the rocker and they got pinched. That was the end of our day. I liked Cornbelly's. There was so much outdoor stuff for kids to do. Chloee really liked the pumpkin princess and getting her face painted the best. A bag of cotton candy ended her day.

Chloee's first trip to the zoo! She really enjoyed seeing all the animals. Of course, grandma had to spoil her at the gift shop. It was a fun day.

Candi's car wreck 8-25-08
On 8/25/08, I was in a car wreck. Basically, someone pulled out in front of me and I wasn't able to stop in time. The front of my car plowed into the rear section of her car. I had my seatbelt on, Chloee was in her carseat. The airbags went off. When I opened my eyes, the car was full of smoke. I didn't even know my airbags had gone off. Someone finally stopped and walked over to see if we were OK. Lucky for me (I suppose) it happened at 21st and Harrison Blvd and there is a fire station on 21st street. A fireman walked over to check us out. The police showed up, asked me what happened and took my info. I figured I would need a ride home and called my grandpa who lives up the street. As I was on the phone with him, I noticed a gold Toyota truck pulling off on the side of the road. It was my dad! He happened to be driving home from work and came through the accident and saw me in the car crying. He couldn't get flipped around and parked fast enough. My grandpa showed up, he took Chloee up to his house while things got taken care of. A wrecker was called and they towed my car. The other driver got the ticket. She had the stop sign and I had right-of-way. We drove up to get my grandpa's truck that he was going to loan me until her insurance company could get me a rental. I took Chlooe and myself up the Instacare just to get checked out. I had burns on the backs of my hands and forearms (from the airbag deployment). And of course, whiplash. Chloee was checked for range of motion in her neck. The doc told me what to expect, soreness, headache, etc. He said that if things weren't feeling right or Chloee started not being herself, then to come back in. She was drinking a capri-sun at the time of the impact, and the straw in the juicebox scratched under her chin, otherwise she was fine. I am so thankful that the injuries from the accident were as minor as they were. My neck still gets sore. They decided to repair my car. Stegen's in Ogden did the work, it took about 4 weeks to get done. I have my car back and things seem to be fixed OK.
Airbag burns
The burns are from the airbag deployment and slash marks from the seatbelt. If I walked away with only these minor marks, EVERYONE should always wear their seatbelts!

Lagoon 8-24-08
Lagoon Day for Chloee! It was funner this year to take her to Lagoon. She is 3 now and was eager to go on more rides like a big girl. She wanted to swim, so we headed over to Lagoon-a-Beach for a while. Mom and dad came down as we headed in to swim. She went down the kiddie water slide this time. We had a blast!
